white christmas

-Traditionally Christmas wreaths are hung on front doors. Try hanging a customized wreath on the inside door of a guest bathroom or a kitchen pantry door.

-Save Christmas cards from years past to frame doorways.

- Try a white theme by spraying a tree with fake snow, using clear lights, and decorating your tree with frosty silver and white ornaments such as icicles and snowflakes.

-Decorate each room with smaller trees. They can be placed on dressers or small tables following the same color scheme as the room.

-Wrap a table or door in Christmas wrapping paper.

-Dress up your larger house plants by hanging smaller ornaments and clear lights on them.

Have a Green Christmas

Recycle your tree – Recycled trees put natural resources back into the environment and reduce waste.

Wrap it up - Reuse smooth, unwrinkled wrapping paper to wrap smaller presents or make homemade cards. Consider using holiday fabric as wrapping paper as it can be used year after year and is usually reasonably priced.

Re-gift – It might sound terrible but passing along gifts that you don’t need is a great idea. Simply donate unwanted items to charity if you don’t know anyone personally that would make use of them.

Energy Awareness – Unplug appliances when not in use and try switching to LED Christmas lights. Not only will you be conserving energy but this can really save you on you electric bill.

Decorations – Use seasonal fruits and nuts such as pomegranates and chestnuts for decoration which can be eaten afterwards. Pine cones and holly branches are also nice natural touches.

Gift Giving – Giving experiences such as dinner to a new restaurant, tickets to a rock concert, or cooking lessons are great alternatives to material gifts. Memberships to gyms, museums, or local food co-ops are gifts that keep on giving. Personalized coupons can be made for just about anything form a massage to a car washing.

Thanksgiving Humor

April showers bring may flowers, and May flowers bring…Pilgrims.

Where did the first corn come from? A stalk brought it.

Why did the chief wear so many feathers? To keep his wigwam.

How many cooks does it take to stuff a turkey? Only one but you really have to squeeze him in there.

What did the turkey say to her naughty chicks? If your father could see you now he would roll over in his gravy.
